Operation Encompass
Our school is proud to be part of Operation Encompass, a national initiative that supports children and families who may be affected by domestic abuse. As an Operation Encompass school, we work closely with the police to ensure that our safeguarding team is informed before the start of the next school day - if a child has been involved in or exposed to a domestic incident.
This timely communication allows us to provide compassionate, tailored support to children when they may need it most. It means we can offer a safe space, understanding, and appropriate pastoral care to help them feel secure and ready to learn. For families, it ensures that we are able to work alongside you with sensitivity, offering reassurance and help from trained staff who understand the challenges you may be facing.
At our school, safeguarding and wellbeing sit at the heart of everything we do. Being an Operation Encompass school strengthens our commitment to ensuring that every child is heard, supported, and nurtured.
The school fully recognises the contribution it can make to protect children and support pupils in school. The aim of the policy is to safeguard and promote our pupils' welfare, safety and health by fostering an honest, open, caring and supportive climate. Our pupil's welfare is of paramount importance.

All the children know they can talk to any 'trusted adult' in school and also know that Mr McLugash, Mrs Smith, Mrs Bills and Mrs Bee are the 'Safeguarding Team'. If you have any worries or concerns about a child, then please contact us to talk.

We have taken part in the Speak Out Stay Safe with Buddy learning from the NSPCC.
We are very proud that we have completed the NSPCC 'Speak Out, Stay Safe' lessons and assemblies at Viscount Beaumont's. All the children know that we are here to keep them safe, and they can talk to anyone at school as a 'Trusted adult'. Around school, you will spot bright yellow boxes that children know they can share their worries in for their teachers to read.
We are proud supporters of 'Safer Internet Day', which helps teach children to keep safe online.
